ARM The Architecture For The Digital World

Mali-VE3 Video Engine

Mali-VE3 Video Engine Image (View Larger Mali-VE3 Video Engine Image)
The Mali-VE3 standard definition video engine fully supports H.264 Base Profile, both encode and decode up to D1 resolution - NTSC (720x480) at 30 fps and PAL (720x576) at 25 fps. For the availability of other codecs please contact  us directly. The target end devices include mobile phones, portable entertainment devices and camcorders, as well as digital televisions.

The Mali-VE6 high definition video engine is also available.

The highly flexible and scalable ARM Mali™-VE video engine architecture offers the optimum combination of high performance, efficient die size, programmability and low power consumption, making it ideal for mobile solutions and converged consumer applications. The video engine has a DRAM-friendly and burst-efficient memory access pattern, low memory-bandwidth requirements and very high tolerance for interconnect latency and interconnect arbitration gaps. The Mali-VE video engine technology is also highly autonomous, placing a minimal load (<1%) on the system CPU.

The Mali-VE3 Video Engine is ideally suited for use as a video processor in devices such as mobile phonesportable entertainment devices and camcorders, as well as digital televisions.
