ARM Real-Time System Modelsask ARM*

Using the RealView System Generator  tool, engineers can themselves create ARM Real-Time System Models. These virtual targets enable software engineers to develop applications running on major operating systems, on an ARM processor-based system model, and interact with their software applications in real time. Follow the link above for further information on System Generator.

RealView Development Suite Professional includes six Real-Time System Models, modelling the Emulation Baseboard and a choice of the following ARM processor models: ARM926EJ-S, ARM1136JF-S, ARM1176JZF-S, Cortex-R4, Cortex-A8, Cortex-A9 (single core), which are created using System Generator. These models are also supplied in System Generator is supplied with as an example systems.

Features of  Real-Time System Models

  • Code Translation technology used to produce a very fast system model
  • Runs as fast as the real hardware on a typical PC
  • Suitable for software application development
  • Functionally accurate ARM architecture Instruction Set Simulator
  • TrustZone and VFP simulation
  • Closely models real system peripherals
  • Develop applications for new processors before hardware is available

Supported Host Platforms
The Real Time System Model is currently available for a Windows or Linux host machine. Based on dynamic binary to binary translation, the ARM assembly code instructions are translated into the host instruction set. IA-32 Intel Pentium and AMD Athol instruction sets are supported.
