The ARM® Versatile™ family is now discontinued and only available for a last time buy while stocks last. This range of development boards has been superseded by the Versatile™ Express family.
A Versatile™ Platform Baseboard can be used as a standalone software development system, or it can be upgraded by adding one or more LogicTiles to give custom IP validation capability. This enables development of application or driver software that runs on the ARM processor and interacts with the custom IP that is being proved in the Logic Tile.
The following ARM processors are currently supported by the Platform Baseboard format:
Platform Baseboards utilize custom-designed 'Development Chip' ASICs to give higher bus and memory throughput than the EB + CT solution. The performance increase is achieved by placing the high-bandwidth peripherals such as memory and graphics controllers close to the ARM core, inside the main system ASIC rather than in an adjacent FPGA.
