The RealView^® Versatile family provides a highly integrated, feature rich development system, with a flexible multi-layer AHB bus structure.

Using the RealView Versatile family of boards, developers can prototype hardware IP, such as ARM PrimeXsys ^TM based ASICs, and associated driver software. The Versatile family reduces development times, and increases levels of confidence in final silicon, by allowing early prototyping in an environment close to the final system using programmable and standard components.

The Emulation Baseboard is an ideal FPGA-based prototyping platform. It interfaces directly with Core Tiles, which provide fast implementations of ARM processors in test chips, and Logic Tiles, which add extra FPGA space.

The Platform Baseboard for the ARM926EJ-S, ARM11 MPCore and ARM1176JZF-S processors is a software prototyping platform based around a highly integrated development chip. The development chip includes the ARM processor and a range of high performance IP including memory controllers, DMA controller and LCD controller.

The Application Baseboard for the ARM926EJ-S is a low cost software development board also based on the ARM926EJ-S development chip.

The Platform Baseboard and Emulation Baseboard can be extended with the following Tiles:

• Logic Tiles enable developers to prototype complete systems
• Core Tiles enable the addition of extra ARM processors to the Platform Baseboard.
• The Analyzer Tile allows connections between Tiles to be monitored by a logic analyzer
• The Interface Tile provides additional peripherals and connectors, and a prototyping grid for custom peripherals
