The RealView® ICE run control unit can now be used with Microsoft’s Platform Builder for Windows CE and Windows Embedded CE to provide a comprehensive hardware-assisted debug solution for ARM processor based systems. You can register and download free of charge the unique driver software developed by ARM for use with the RealView ICE unit and immediately take the extended hardware assisted debug capabilities of Platform Builder beyond that of the traditional software debuggers. The RealView ICE eXDI2 drivers connect to the Platform Builder extended Debugging Interface (eXDI) and provide a graphical user interface that enables access to additional debug functions and the ARM processor features that are not available in Platform Builder alone. Using RealView ICE enables Windows Embedded CE and Windows CE developers to communicate directly with the target ARM processor, dramatically improving hardware visibility and enabling debug scenarios that would be impossible with just a software-based debug monitor.
