This includes the world's first autonomous-class processor with integrated safety as well as Arm's first multithreaded application processor with integrated safety.
Arm Safety Ready provides the automotive supply chain with a head start in safety readiness, enabling our ecosystem to deliver safer products to market faster. As a result, Arm is accelerating the industry’s path to fully-autonomous driving by extending its IP solutions into a broader suite of Automotive Enhanced IP.
Arm's first multithreaded processor with integrated safety.
Arm Cortex-A65AE is Arm's first multithreaded Automotive Enhanced Cortex-A CPU technology to deliver the highest safety levels with Dual Core Lock-Step (DCLS). It can scale up to eight cores in a single cluster and supports Split-Lock for mixed-criticality automotive applications. The thermally efficient Cortex-A65AE is designed for high-throughput workloads, such as sensor fusion in autonomous driving and vision in ADAS.
The Arm Safety Ready program
The Arm Safety Ready program is a collection of products across the Arm portfolio that have been through various and rigorous levels of functional safety systematic flows and development. The aim is to give customers the confidence that they are receiving reliable functional safety through consistent documentation, processes and features. Arm’s Safety Ready program helps to reduce risk and accelerate time to market whilst also fast-tracking the certification part phase of the project.
The World’s First Autonomous-Class Processor with Integrated Safety
The Cortex-A76AE is based on the recently announced, Cortex-A76 design. It is a superscalar, out-of-order processor that delivers similar levels of performance as the Cortex-A76 across integer, floating point, memory and machine learning, and achieves similar levels of energy efficiency. Where the Cortex-A76AE is different, is through microarchitectural upgrades for functional safety and added application flexibility.

Earlier this year Arm demonstrated its commitment to accelerating the deployment of safe fully autonomous vehicles for OEMs and Tier1s with the launch of our Safety Ready program and a dedicated range of Automotive Enhanced IP. Today, to further expand our Automotive Enhanced IP portfolio, we are announcing the release of Arm Cortex-A65AE, formerly known as Helios-AE on our product roadmap.
