(View Larger Blaupunkt TravelPilot 300 Image)Description: Blaupunkt have recently announced a new navigations system which will run Windows CE 5.0-based. The TravelPilot 300 features; a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, 4GB of flash storage, Bluetooth, a voice recorder, personal POI (points of interest) entry, and five video games. The TravelPilot will include a 4GB of flash storage which is about four times the amount found in most PNDs. The unit will also have an SDHC-compatible card slot, which can be used to add at least 8GB of additional storage. The TravelPilot will feature maps supplied by TeleAtlas, with details of more than 20 Western European countries will be built in, and data for 20 Eastern European countries can be uploaded via a DVD supplied with the unit. Further more the TravelPilot 300 can be programmed to sound visual or acoustic warnings when the legal speed limit is about to be exceeded. Users will also be able to add personal points of interest to the device by obtaining GPS coordinates of interest from a website such as Google Earth, entering them into a PC program supplied with the TravelPoint 300, and then moving them to the PND via an SD card.
The TravelPilot 300 will be available in April for 300 Euros, according to Blaupunkt.
