Arm Branding Guidelines

You should only follow the Arm branding guidelines set out in this section if you hold a valid license agreement from Arm containing a trademark license. Please refer to your current license agreement if you do not hold any of the license types described in this section. Please contact our trademarks team if you have any questions about the Arm branding guidelines.

When using Arm’s trademarks, you should also follow Arm’s trademark use guidelines for the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product trademark, and the guidelines for using the Arm corporate logo, if appropriate.

Branding guidelines for licensees of the Arm technology license agreement

Please follow these guidelines if you hold a valid technology license agreement from Arm. If your existing agreement states that you are not obliged to use Arm’s trademarks under any or certain circumstances only then please follow these guidelines and substitute "may" for "shall", where "shall" appears below, if appropriate. Please contact our trademarks team if you have any questions:

 

  1. Die encapsulation (die package)
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo to the die encapsulation (die package) of each unit of any Arm Compliant Product (as defined in your agreement) that you distribute. However, you will not be obliged to apply the logo if you provide prior written evidence to Arm that:
      1. your customer has requested that the die package of the relevant Arm Compliant Product(s) should not feature any trademark whatsoever or it should only bear your customer’s trademark; or
      2. there is insufficient physical space on the die package of the relevant Arm Compliant Product to apply both your trademark and the Arm corporate logo.

        Where you distribute Arm Compliant Products to an Intermediary (as defined below), the packaging of each unit of such Arm Compliant Product so distributed must bear a mark which unambiguously identifies you as the manufacturing source of the Arm Compliant Product. If the packaging of the Arm Compliant Product cannot accommodate your mark because of size limitations, then you shall include a prominent statement indicating that you are the manufacturing source of the Arm Compliant Product (e.g. "Manufactured by [licensee identity] under license from Arm Limited") in substantially all advertising material and promotional, technical or other documentation, including press releases, associated with the Arm Compliant Product and you shall oblige any Intermediary to do the same.

        "Intermediary" means any third party to whom you distribute an Arm Compliant Product and who is not an End User; and

        "End User" means any person or other legal entity which licenses an Arm Compliant Product for its own personal use or for use in the ordinary course of its business but not for onward sale, distribution or sublicensing.
  2. Product packaging
    • You may apply the Arm corporate logo in a prominent place, to any product packaging for End User products containing an Arm Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to the product packaging of any product containing Arm technology and distributed by you under license from Arm.
  3. Advertising and promotional materials
    • You may apply the Arm corporate logo to any advertising or promotional material for, or relating to, any End User product containing an Arm Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may apply the Arm corporate logo to any advertising or promotional material for, or relating to, any Arm technology or to the company Arm Limited.
    • You may apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to any advertising material or promotional relating to any Arm Compliant Product containing such Arm technology distributed by you under license from Arm.
  4. Technical documentation
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo in a prominent place, to any technical documentation for, or relating to, any Arm Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You shall apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to any technical or other documentation relating to any Arm Compliant Product containing such Arm technology distributed by you under license from Arm.
  5. Websites
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo and/or the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to the page(s) of your website relating to any Arm Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may use the Arm corporate logo to create a hyperlink between the primary page of your website and the primary page or other suitable page of Arm’s website.

Branding guidelines for licensees of the Arm architecture license agreement

Please follow these guidelines if you hold a valid architecture license agreement from Arm. If your existing agreement states that you are not obliged to use Arm’s trademarks under any or certain circumstances only then please follow these guidelines and substitute "may" for "shall", where "shall" appears below, if appropriate.     • You may apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to any advertising material or promotional relating to any Architecture Compliant Product containing such Arm technology distributed by you under license from Arm.
  4. Technical documentation
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo in a prominent place, to any technical documentation for, or relating to, any Architecture Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You shall apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to any technical or other documentation relating to any Architecture Compliant Product containing such Arm technology distributed by you under license from Arm.
  5. Websites
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo and/or the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product/service/technology word trademark to the page(s) of your website relating to any Architecture Compliant Product distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may use the Arm corporate logo to create a hyperlink between the primary page of your website and the primary page or other suitable page of Arm’s website.

Branding guidelines for licensed distributors of Arm tools

Please follow these guidelines if you hold a valid Arm tools distribution licence agreement from Arm. Please contact our trademarks team if you have any questions:

  1. Advertising and promotional materials
    • You may apply the Arm corporate logo and any permitted Arm product logo(s) to any advertising or promotional material for, or relating to, any Arm Tool (as defined in your agreement) distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product or service word trademark to all advertising, catalogues, product information sheets and other promotional materials for, or relating to, the relevant Arm Tools distributed under license from Arm.
  2. Technical documentation
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo in a prominent place, to any technical documentation for, or relating to, any Arm Tool distributed under license from Arm.
    • You shall apply the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product or service word trademark to any technical or other documentation relating to the relevant Arm Tools distributed under license from Arm.
  3. Websites
    • You shall apply the Arm corporate logo and/or the Arm word trademark and any appropriate Arm product or service word trademark to the relevant page(s) of your website relating to any Arm Tool distributed under license from Arm.
    • You may use the relevant product logos to create a hyperlink between the primary page of your website and the primary page of Arm’s website.
