Through our education initiatives, we aim to play a leading role in closing the STEM education and skills gaps. By drawing on Arm’s technological expertise, innovation, and partner ecosystem, we publish content and enable access to educational technologies that help both teachers and learners achieve their objectives at every level of education.

As online learning became an essential tool for many around the world, we’ve offered academic institutions worldwide the opportunity to access our online courses and digital textbooks at no cost for a six-month period. Through the Arm School Program and in response to the rapid need for home learning resources at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, we developed an online playlist to introduce learners to programming using MicroPython. Presented as a 32-part free-to-access YouTube series, the playlist covers a wide range of foundational programming topics through project-based learning. This was shortly followed by an additional 19-part video series ‘Introduction to Computer Science with micro:bit’.

This is all in addition to our wide suite of education kits, which comprises a full set of teaching materials on topics covering everything from computer architecture and embedded systems, to IoT, robotics, and mobile gaming.

In these times of uncertainty, it has never been more important to ensure people have access to all the resources they need to continue learning and gaining new skills. Arm is dedicated to supporting the next generation of engineers, researchers and academics, something which will continue throughout 2021 and for many years to come.
