Immerse yourself in ARM technology at the Big Bang Fair 2017
What: Join ARM at the Big Bang Fair 2017, where we will be showcasing a fascinating range of ARM®-based demonstrations to encourage children to be creative with technology.
Highlights on the ARM stand include an immersive mobile virtual reality (VR) demonstration with high-quality content built on Unreal Engine 4 that teleports users into the heart of a smartphone. They will be able to explore the inside of a device, from chip to camera, from an entirely new perspective. Their guide will be a friendly robot companion.
Other ARM technology-based activities include:
- Micro:bit bench – Code your way through a variety of challenges and workshops with the BBC micro:bit
- Internet of Things (IoT) demo – Reprogram the ARM stand using pressure plates, microphones and buttons to unleash a range of fun effects
- Snakey Snakey – Snake your way to the top of the leaderboard with an interactive, collaborative game that transforms everyday objects into touchpads to direct the snake – just don't bite your tail!
- Traffic lights – Learn how logic gates and digital circuits work with this colourful wall challenge that illuminates traffic lights when solved correctly
All of the demos provide a range of creative and thought-provoking opportunities for children to engage with technology in a hands-on way. This builds on ARM's commitment to encourage students into STEM careers in order to inspire the next generation of engineers.
