SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 2004--Artisan Components, Inc., (Nasdaq:ARTI), a leading provider of physical intellectual property (IP), today announced it has been named on Electronic Business' list as one of 30 Best Small Electronics Companies. The list was published in the Reed Electronics Group's April 2004 issue of Electronic Business Online. The 30 companies were ranked by annual revenue growth over the past three years. Artisan is the only semiconductor IP company to make the list.

According to the Electronics Business report, the 30 Best Small Electronics Companies were selected from a list of more than 200 public electronics companies with annual revenues below $250 million that have exhibited strong annual and quarterly revenue growth. The list of 30 companies was determined by considering quantitative factors such as profitability, quarter-to-quarter revenue growth and future growth potential. Reed Business Research, who compiled the list, also took into account the companies' qualitative attributes such as innovation, leadership and technology.

This honor follows Artisan being named in Reed Electronics Group's list of "50 Companies to Watch in 2004" as part of its Electronics Industry's Movers & Shakers November 2003 supplement. The list included Artisan as one of 50 top companies that have outperformed the market and showcases some of the most interesting businesses in the world.

"Artisan's position as an industry leader has allowed us to invest in R&D as well as business expansion, bringing increasing value to our partners and customers," said Mark Templeton, president and chief executive officer of Artisan.
