Artisan Components, Inc. Reports Record Royalty and Total Revenue For The Second Quarter Of Fiscal 2002

SUNNYVALE, Calif., -- April 18, 2002 -- Artisan Components, Inc., (Nasdaq: ARTI), a leading provider of semiconductor intellectual property (IP), today announced that its library products optimized for Hynix Semiconductor Inc.'s 0.18-micron process are now available for licensed customers to download free-of-charge from Artisan's web site. Under the terms of an agreement between Artisan and Hynix, Artisan is making available its SAGE-X™ Standard Cell Library and generators for single- and dual-port SRAM generators. Additionally, Artisan expects to distribute its diffusion programmable ROM and Hynix's I/O library as part of its free library program.

Artisan's suite of library products is compliant with Hynix's 0.18-micron design rules and characterized using Hynix's latest electrical models. The products include Artisan's extensive set of views and models supporting the industry's leading EDA tools.

Product Availability
Artisan's widely-used SAGE-X™ Standard Cell Library, single- and dual-port SRAM generators optimized for Hynix's 0.18-micron process are immediately available. Artisan's ROM generator and Hynix's I/O library are expected to be available in June 2002 and in July 2002 respectively. These products will be included in Artisan's Foundry Library Program, and can be downloaded by licensed customers free-of-charge from Artisan's web site.
