ARM CEO Enters Top 50 Agenda Setters at No. 10

Warren East named as top technology agenda setter

What: ARM CEO Warren East has been ranked as the tenth most influential agenda setter in the technology world for “powering the world’s mobile technology”.  The annual Agenda Setters’ poll in Silicon.com cited East as the man that has taken ARM to a significant milestone in 2008, with 10 billion ARM Powered® products being shipped by ARM® Partners.
 
This is the first time East has been listed in the ranking and sees him leapfrog all other semiconductor companies – a reflection that ARM powers a vast amount of the world's electronic devices, including smartphones and mobile internet devices.  As well as mobile technology, ARM is pervasive in wireless, networking and consumer entertainment solutions to imaging, automotive, security and storage devices.  ARM Partners ship almost three billion ARM Powered processors per year. 
 
In the announcement by Silicom.com last week - it said that East is “the leader of a business that is the powerful creative core that enables technological revolution after technological revolution in the mobile [space] - endlessly learning from each forward step to guide the creative energy with which to spring the next forward step.”
 
The ranking, alongside software leaders, device manufacturers and industry visionaries, reaffirms the growing importance of ARM as the low-power architecture of choice for those building and developing mobile computing devices.
