 | How can I access Jazelle DBX hardware to run my Java Application on an ARM core? |
ARM Jazelle DBX enabled cores (for example the ARM926EJ-S) execute the majority of Java bytecodes in hardware. To configure and turn on the Jazelle DBX hardware requires software support code integrated into a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). ARM license this software support code as part of the Jazelle Java Technology Enabling Kit (JTEK) Jazelle JTEK is available for license by anyone who is also a Sun Licensee (SCSL or TLDA): this is due to the terms of our agreement for Jazelle DBX hardware with Sun Microsystems. Jazelle JTEK can be obtained in one of two ways: A direct JTEK license with ARM. Typically we license directly to Java platform vendors or to OEMs/ODMs for their own in-house Java solution. License a JTEK-enabled Java platform from your preferred Java supplier.
ARM have a number of key software partners for Java who can provide complete Java platforms incorporating Jazelle JTEK; these are: - Aplix Corporation
- AromaSoft
- XCE
- Sun
- VeloxSoft
ARM also works with other partners and this list is expanding all the time, if your preferred vendor is not on this list then contact ARM directly.
