RVDS 3.1 Professional The evaluation tools license will timeout 30 days after your license file is generated. There are no other restrictions in the evaluation version of RVDS 3.1 Professional. RVDS 3.1 The evaluation version of RVDS 3.1 provides all the functionality of the full tools except for some restrictions related to object and image format, and also disassembly output (see below). Object and image formats Object and image formats generated by the evaluation tools are not standard ELF and will not be usable by third party tools. However standard ELF objects and images created by the full version of RVDS can still be consumed by the evaluation version of the ARM linker and RealView Debugger (RVD). Can I use RVDS 3.1 evaluation to generate Symbian-compatible applications? Object and image formats generated by the evaluation tools are not standard ELF and are therefore not suitable for use in a Symbian-based system. For more information please see the FAQ entry: 'Which ARM toolkit must I use to build Symbian OS/Apps?'. Can other debuggers consume images generated by the RVDS 3.1 evaluation tools? No. Debuggers other than the evaluation version of RVD 3.1, e.g., SoC Designer Model Debugger and full versions of RVD, will not consume images generated by the RVDS 3.1 evaluation tools. Component Restrictions Disassembly output is not provided with evaluation tools. Because of this the evaluation tools do not support the following fromelf and compiler switches: - fromelf will not support the --elf and the --c command-line options.
- armcc will not support the the -S, --asm and the --interleave command-line options.

No. What does an evaluation license look like? You can tell if you have an evaluation license because each of the main features in the license are prefixed by eval_ and suffixed with _00, e.g, a full tools license feature for the ARM linker is: armlink, whereas the evaluation tools license feature for the ARM linker is: eval_armlink_00. Installation Can I install patch updates for the evaluation tools? No. Patching the evaluation version is not supported. If I purchase the full version of RVDS 3.1, after having already installed the evaluation version, do I need to uninstall the evaluation version before installing the full version? Yes. The co-existence of full and evaluation version of RVDS 3.1 is not permitted. How do I tell if I have the evaluation version of RVDS 3.1 installed on my machine?
