downarrowWhy can I not trace with a 4-bit or 8-bit data port width?
Applies to: RVD Trace, RealView Development Suite (RVDS) 3.0

RealView Debugger (RVD) v3.0 and RVD v3.0.1 have a bug which prevents trace from being enabled unless your target's ETM implements a 16-bit data port width. On targets which only support 4-bit and/or 8-bit data port widths, you will receive Error V20017 Logic Analyzer is not setup when attempting to connect the trace analyzer and configure RealView Trace (RVT):

RVD FAQ Image: Error V20017 (logic analyzer not setup)

To remedy this problem, please install the RVD v3.0.1 build 321 patch.

This build of RVD allows you to connect to ETM targets that only support 4-bit and/or 8-bit data widths.  Please note that this patch can only be applied if you have already upgraded to RVDS v3.0 Service Pack 1.
