Yes. RVD v3.0 and later include support for debug and trace of GCC built images. We would recommend you use the CodeSourcery GNU toolchain, available from: http://www.codesourcery.com/gnu_toolchains/arm/

The Linux kernel (and associated device drivers) can be debugged in the same way as a standard ELF format executable.
