downarrowWhy do I see the error message: 'sARMARMx_arm.exe - Entry Point Not Found'?
Applies to: ARMulator/RVISS, RVD Debug, RealView Development Suite (RVDS) 3.0, RealView Development Suite (RVDS) 3.1, RealView Development Suite (RVDS) 3.1 Professional

When connecting to an ARMulator model in RVD 3.x you may see the error message:

'sARMARMx_arm.exe - Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point ToolConf_ReadFromString could not be located in the dynamic link library toolconf.dll.'

This problem may be occurring because you have multiple ARM tools installed on your machine and your environment has become corrupted.

To resolve this issue, please try using our SuiteSwitcher utility. Install and open the utility, then select the radio button for the tools which you wish to use, e.g., 'RVDS 3.0'.  Once the hourglass has disappeared, please restart RVD and try connecting to the same ARMulator model again.

This issue may also be caused by an outdated toolconf.dll file.  In this case, the issue can be resolved by replacing the toolconf.dll file at:

C:\Program Files\ARM\RVARMulator\ARMulator\<version>\<build>\win_32-pentium

with the one at:

C:\Program Files\ARM\RVD\Core\<version>\<build>\win_32-pentium\bin

We recommend backing up the existing toolconf.dll file as you may need to revert to this version prior to applying future RVDS patches.
