ARM Accredited Engineer (AAE) Accreditation

The ARM Accredited Engineer is the first accreditation in the AAE Accreditation Pathway. It is a standard level accreditation that focuses on software-related aspects of the ARMv7 Architecture, with a specific focus on Cortex-A and Cortex-R profiles, plus common subjects like software tools. The AAE accreditation is aimed at embedded software and systems developers who have a broad knowledge of ARM technology and biased toward applications processors and real-time processors.

The syllabus covers the following subject areas:

  • ARM architecture (30%)
  • Software development (30%)
  • Software optimization (15%)
  • System (10%)
  • Software debug (8%)
  • Implementation (7%)

Exam

The exam was developed at ARM Ltd in the UK by a team of world-leading ARM Subject Matter Experts and consists of 70 multiple-choice, English-language questions. You will have 60 minutes (under exam conditions) to complete all 70 questions.

The test is delivered by Prometric Inc. as a supervised, computer-based-test on dedicated test platforms throughout their network of 10,000 Authorized Prometric Testing Centers (APTCs) around the world. You should allow for at least 90 minutes in the test center when taking the exam.

Register for an exam

  • Select the relevant exam, and location
  • Place your booking

Get your results

When you complete an exam, your results will appear instantly on-screen. Grades are either pass or fail - no letter or percentage grades are issued. You can also request a paper certificate.
