The ARM® Cortex®-A17 is the highest-performance 32-bit ARM processor. Designed to deliver high performance in a cost-efficient power and area budget, the Cortex-A17 supports the largest 32-bit software ecosystem for mid-range consumer and embedded designs with ARMv7-A compatibility.The Cortex-A17 processor offers more than 60% performance uplift uplift at the same clock frequency over the widely-adopted Cortex-A9 processor at the same clock frequency. It also improves efficiency in both performance per mW and per mm², delivering similar performance to Cortex-A15 in 40% less power and area.

To enable mass-market mid-range devices, scalability and cost are critical. The Cortex-A17 processor scales up to four cores in a single cluster, and combines with CoreLink System IP components and Cortex-A7 to scale further in a big.LITTLE design. Cortex-A17 brings efficiency and performance at a better point than any other 32-bit CPU. ARM POP IP enables fast optimized implementations of Cortex-A17 in cost effective 28nm technology.

This processor can also be implemented in an ARM big.LITTLE configuration, for example with the Cortex-A7 processor.
