The RealView® Development Suite - Instruction Set Simulator (RVISS), provides functionally accurate simulations of ARM processor based systems, allowing developers to create code before hardware is available. Features of the simulators are: - Support for all ARM processors prior to the CortexTM family. This includes the ARM7TM , ARM9E™, ARM10™ and ARM11TM processor families (the Cortex family is supported by a different technology, the Instruction Set System Model)
- Simulation of exceptions, such as interrupts and aborts
- User extensible to add support for custom peripherals
- Easily customizable memory configuration to match target system
An external interface is defined (provided in the documentation) allowing you to add models written in either C or C++ to simulate target hardware. Instruction Set System Model For the CortexTM family of ARM processors, the Instruction Set Simulator (ISS) has been replaced by the Instruction Set System Model (ISSM). This model can be used in the same way as the ISS, and includes a set of peripheral models of UARTs, timers and an interrupt controller to enable RTOS ports and code development. Ordering Information The RealView Development Suite can be obtained directly from ARM by sending a faxed Purchase Order to your local ARM office or by contacting of one our authorized RealView Development Tools Distributors. |
