Automotive Body and Convenience system
As an architecture whose compatibility is enforced by a thorough validation process, ARM provides a standard core upon which to build a software base for future body controller designs.  For body modules and intelligent sensors, the ARM7TDMI® core can provide similar performance to traditional 8-bit architectures but at a much lower clock frequency, reducing the emissions associated with power dissipation and lowering the costs necessary to shield the module. The new Cortex-M3 based on the latest ARMv7M architecture combines small chip size, high code density with a very efficient microarchitecture implementation for even lower operating frequencies. It delivers 32bit performance at 8/16bit price and makes it an excellent choice for cost sensitive application such as body and convenience systems.
