Topic: Over 6 Billion Served—"Want That Java Superoptimized?"

Date and Time: Monday;  October 3 2011, 12:30 - 13:30

Abstract: With more than six billion ARM-based devices shipped in 2010, ARM-based chips are used in a wide range of embedded systems, from handsets to network routers. New processors such as the Cortex-A15 not only offer an enhanced platform for many traditional embedded systems but are also projected to help drive into new markets such as microserver appliances. Similarly, Java SE for Embedded Devices, which has offered the power and ease of Java on ARM for traditional embedded markets for some time, is being optimized for these new processors, which, in turn, creates growth opportunities in emerging markets. This joint ARM/Oracle session covers what developers need to know about the features and futures of these new processors and how Java SE is being optimized.
