Creating and Debugging Linux Applications on ARM Processors with Open-Source Tools at 1:30- 2:15

Many projects are now built on an existing board with a Linux kernel already ported to it. Building the kernel is not desired; only creating and debugging your application is necessary. This simplifies the process. This seminar will discuss the open source Eclipse/GNU/debugger toolchain including other associated tools that are available and what components and versions of various software is needed. Connecting to your target by various means such as RS-232, TCP/IP and hardware emulators (including trace) will be shown with their pros and cons. The issues of purchasing open source tools in a turn-key package to get you working on your project faster will be discussed.  A brief primer on the ARM roadmap and a demonstration of a typical design flow is at the end. You will gain a good practical understanding of debugging Linux applications.
