Company Overview
Company History
Doulos develops and delivers world class, market-leading training solutions for SoC, FPGA and ASIC design and verification. An independent company, Doulos sets the industry standard for high quality technical training in SystemC, SystemVerilog, e, PSL, VHDL, Verilog, Perl & Tcl/Tk.
Established in 1991, Doulos became an ARM Training Partner for Central Europe in 2002 and now offers ARM training in SoC and embedded software design, as well as modelling using the new ARM RealView tools. Company Objective
Doulos is a specialist training company delivering SoC design and verification know-how to our customers. Our objective is to always develop and deliver high value know-how on behalf of and in collaboration with our partners. Know-how can be delivered in various forms including scheduled multi-customer training classes, on-site coaching to engineering teams, establishing a new design or verification flow, and even ongoing email or telephone project support.
Doulos has a very strong reputation for excellent training materials and high quality instruction. The ARM RealView SoC Designer Class is an example of a Partner Class collaboration focused on delivering know-how to the ARM Connected Community and their customers. Such collaborations can be based on a number of different business models with our EDA partners.
Successful for more than 15 years in the EDA Design and methodology business Doulos has been able to maintain its independence, which adds value to any training collaboration for partners like ARM. Customers value know-how delivered from an independent perspective highly; the Doulos model is very similar to ARM's working with its Connected Community.
Primary Business Model Scheduled training's in Europe and the US (UK, Benelux, France, Germany, USA) and customized onsite design and verification training world wide.
Company Offerings Doulos sets the industry standard for high quality technical training in the languages and methodologies for SystemC, SystemVerilog, e, PSL, VHDL, Verilog, Perl and Tcl/Tk. Its training portfolio spans Hardware Design, Verification Methodology and System Level Design for FPGA, ASIC and SoC design.
Public courses run regularly across Europe and the USA. In-house and team-based training is delivered world-wide, and comes with a guarantee of expert technical interaction to ensure training is precisely tailored to match your requirements.
In addition, Doulos Golden Reference Guides (GRGs) have established themselves as the engineer's must have project reference.
Target markets? The Doulos customer base is large and extensive across all application spaces within the electronics sector. Clients include the top ten semiconductor and telecommunication companies.
What is unique about Doulos's offerings? Doulos is the only ARM Approved Training partner in the SoC Design and verification space with a full scope supporting training portfolio and the only ARM service partner with a fully independent background in the EDA industry. Company History with ARM
How long has the company been working with ARM? The core team in Doulos with ARM expertise is based in Germany and they have been dealing with ARM SoC Design and ARM Training for more than 7 years.
ARM technologies your company supports: Doulos has been an ARM Approved Training partner for more than 7 years and delivers ARM Architecture training in the context of SoC design.
Our Portfolio in the last years includes all ARM cores from ARM7TDMI ARM9E to ARM11 and the Cortex-M3.
Doulos ARM training is unique in that it includes full hands-on labs for all aspects of the SoC design process.
Doulos developed the ARM SoC designer tool training in partnership with ARM and delivers that training directly to ARM customers. If needed or requested, ARM training modules can be mixed and adapted with our other training modules from the Doulos portfolio like SystemC Modeling or verification methodologies using SystemVerilog or e Specman.
Why have you chosen to work with ARM? Well, is there a way around ARM in a SoC design? If you are working in an SoC environment and deliver training on how to build and design SoC's, it would make sense to know the main components and the bus architecture to get all the parts connected and working.
Specialist area as an ARM Partner? ARM Approved Training Center. Doulos delivers ARM training in the context of SoC Design as well as embedded software training for ARM based Micro-controllers (NXP; ST, Atmel ..)
What one experience comes to mind during your initial work with ARM? One of the first activities for the Doulos Hannover office when it opened in 2002 was the ARM Developer Forum which was organized with the assistance of ARM and ARM partners such as ST and NEC and the Elektronik magazine publisher. Steve Furber was a special guest as well as the team had been involved in translating his ARM book and published in German.
Please site any end products that your ARM technology is being shipped with? The Doulos 'end-product' is the enhanced know-how of our customers; and in this context the 'how to' of ARM based SoC design. Doulos has delivered training for most of the top ten semi. and telecommunication companies ! So Doulos is usually not directly involved with the end product. But it is interesting to see that Doulos trained the first design groups in Philips developing the LPC2000 ARM based Controller five years ago and today Doulos delivers training to Philips customers using the LPC2000 Controller.
