Actel Cup Electronics Design Winner In China Announced Actel, a member of the ARM Connected Community, has announced that a design from Xi'an Institute of Posts and Telecommunications has won the top prize in the first Actel Cup design contest in China. Xi'an Institute of Posts and Telecommunications winning entry was a mixed-signal Actel Fusion-based wireless auto-monitoring temperature control design. The winning design was chosen by a judging committee from among the 390 submitted designs ranging from automotive and medical to power management solution designs. Actel Fusion FPGAs incorporate analog functions, embedded flash and FPGA fabric in a single chip. For embedded applications, the combination of Fusion and industry-standard cores, such as an 8051 microcontroller or the ARM Cortex-M1 processor, enables intelligent system and power management, representing a flexible, low-cost alternative for many telecommunications and industrial control applications, the company explained.
