Quadros Supports ARM Based STM32 Family

Quadros Systems, Inc., a member of the ARM Connected Community, has confirmed support for the STM32 family of 32-bit Flash microcontrollers (MCUs) from the stable of STMicroelectronics.

Developers can now combine Quadros' RTXC family of real-time operating systems with the STM32 family from STMicroelectronics.. The STM32 family is based on the 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 core, developed specifically for embedded applications requiring a combination of high performance, low power and low cost.

The STM32 family is targeted at applications such as home appliances, industrial automation, card readers, biometrics, and also in portable applications where low power consumption is important.

The RTXC Quadros family is comprised of four kernel architectures: RTXC/ss (single stack) utilizes a lightweight specialized executive to support high data rate and signal processing applications. RTXC/ms (multi-stack) is optimized for control processing using an event-driven, prioritized, pre-emptive scheduler. RTXC/dm (dual mode) marries RTXC/ms and RTXC/ss and is best suited for convergent processing applications which combine DSP/dataflow and RISC/control processing in a single-core processor. Both RTXC/ms and RTXC/dm are brought together under RTXC/mp (multiprocessing) in various combinations to support multi-core and multiprocessor implementations.

Quadros Systems' customers using the STM32 family can select the embedded development tool that best fits their needs. RTXC products are available with support for the IAR Embedded Workbench for ARM (EWARM) and the RealView Microcontroller Development Kit (MDK-ARM) from Keil.
