Micrium Ports Embedded System Components to Stellaris MCUs

Micrium, a member of the ARM Connected Community, has confirmed that it has successfully ported its uC/OS-IIM and uC/USBM embedded system components to Luminary Micro’s Stellaris LM3S3000 and LM3S5000 series microcontrollers.

The extensions to the Stellaris family provides increased connectivity options with USB 2.0 full speed Host, Device, and On-The-Go capability and enhanced motion control capabilities with up to two additional motion-control pulse width modulation (PWM) outputs - for a total of eight.

“Micrium’s embedded software components are ideal for the types of low-cost, high-performance applications that the ARM Cortex-M series of processors target, such as electronic toys, white goods, automotive and industrial control systems and medical instrumentation devices, especially in light of their motion control capabilities,” said Jean Labrosse, president and CEO of Micrium. “Supporting these new products further extends the relationship between our two companies to offer proven solutions to the embedded industry that offer customers a rapid return on their investment.”

Micrium’s uC/OS-II is a fully-featured real time operating system (RTOS) designed specifically to address the requirements of embedded systems. Fully certifiable for avionics RTCA DO-178B and EUROCAE ED-12B, medical FDA 510(k) and IEC 61508 standard for transportation and nuclear systems, it is a highly portable, ROMable, scalable, preemptive real-time, multitasking kernel (RTOS) for microprocessors and microcontrollers.

Micrium’s uC/USB has been designed from the ground up to offer a complete, portable universal serial bus (USB) software for all configurations: host, device or on-the-go (OTG). It features a small footprint, control, bulk, interrupt and isochronous data transfers, easy API, extensive documentation and turnkey solutions for integration and feature extensions.
