Si2 Initiative Announces New Chair The Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) has announced a new chair for its board of directors. Ameesh Desai, Senior Director of the LSI Design Tools & Methodology, LSI Corporation has been confirmed as the new Chair of their Board of Directors for the 2008-2009 term. ARM’s John Goodenough, worldwide director Design Technology sits on the board alongside AMD – Ward Vercruysse, director and fellow; Cadence Design Systems, Inc.- Ted Vucurevich, CTO; IBM Microelectronics – Leon Stock, director, EDA; Intel Corporation - Rahul Goyal, director, EDA Business; National Semiconductor - James Lin, vice president of Technology Infrastructure; NXP – Barry Dennington, sr. vice president; Sequence Design – Vic Kulkarni, president & CEO; and Synopsys and John Chilton, sr. vice president, Marketing & Strategic Development. Si2 is an organization of industry-leading semiconductor, systems, EDA and manufacturing companies focused on improving the way integrated circuits are designed and manufactured in order to speed time-to market, reduce costs, and meet the challenges of sub-micron design.
