ViVOtech Debuts ARM Powered Contactless Payment Reader

ViVOtech has launched ViVOpay 5000, an ARM powered Contactless Payment Reader for use with MasterCard PayPass Programs in EMEA, Latin America, and Canada.

The ViVOpay 5000 reader received the MasterCard PayPass-M/Chip Offline Only, -M/Chip Online Capable and Mag Stripe certifications. This certification expands the previous global certifications for PayPass MagStripe program in the United States and the OneSmart MasterCard PayPass and Pre-Authorized programs in EMV countries guaranteeing the ViVOpay 5000 can be used globally to support MasterCard PayPass initiatives worldwide. Additionally, this certification enables ViVOpay 5000 to be used in London for the national rollout of PayPass.

As part of the certification process to support MasterCard PayPass standards for contactless payments, ViVOtech submitted the ViVOpay 5000 to an independent laboratory to undergo extensive testing to demonstrate software stability, card data security and interoperability.

The ARM processor optimizes multiple payment applications and provides advanced functionality within ViVOpay 5000, the company said.
