Italian Company Debuts Petit ARM9 CPU With Linux Elpa, based in Italy, has debuted the RD129, an ARM9-based module delivered with Linux kernel 2.6.21.5. The RD129 incorporates a 32bit ARM9 CPU, clocked at 266MHz with from From 16Mb to 64Mb of SDRAM and 32Mb or 64Mb of on board Flash memory. The RD129 has been developed to work with a user-designed carrier board or with an Elpa development board. Elpha said it has been focused on the digital electronics market, but is branching out into the analog world. Typical final products of Elpa customers include automatic test equipment, printers, display panels, medical instruments, safety products and user terminals.
