UK: ARM & TI Spring 2009 OMAP Workshop ARM and Texas Instruments (TI) are to run a TI OMAP workshop at ARM’s offices in Cambridge in the new year. The workshop will provide in-depth training on TI OMAP - the industry’s first architecture based on the ARM Cortex-A8 Processor – from experts at ARM and TI. With more than four times the processing capability of today's 300 MHz ARM9 processor-based devices, the superscalar Cortex-A8 processor runs up to 600 MHz and is integrated into four new OMAP35x applications processors for a wide range of possible applications, including portable infotainment and industrial devices, points of sale, digital signage and low-power medical devices. Attendees will be eligible for a 25% discount on the Evaluation Module which currently has an official price tag of $1495. Featuring the OMAP35x high-performance Superscalar ARM Cortex-A8 with NEON co-processing, this EVM kit allows developers to evaluate and jumpstart development. Equipped with daughter card expansion connections, the EVM can be used to prototype complete systems (EVM is upgradeable to support future OMAP35x processors). The one day workshop is schedule for 21 January 2009. |
