What are my options regarding small and inexpensive evaluation boards and how do I get them? The ARM University Program is now offering low-cost starter kits to qualified academics* based on a variety of ARM-based microcontrollers. The kit includes a Keil Evaluation Board, a Keil ULINK JTAG interface, as well as the RealView MDK-ARM Evaluation Tools. For pricing information, please contact your local Keil distributor.
You also have the option to purchase ARM-based boards (sometimes at academic rates) directly from our partner companies such as Cirrus, NXP, Oki, etc., or one of the many distributors around the world. Although ARM does not endorse any specific vendor, one example of a low-cost solution from a distributor is provided below: A more comprehensive list of platforms and information (including platforms on-hand for donation) can be found in the Development Platforms section of the university web pages. Of course, ARM does provide academic pricing on our more comprehensive development boards, such as the Integrator and Versatile families. *ARM is offering academic discounts to institutions only.
