<t™-base Trusted Execution Environment product family is the Trustonic core foundation of trust for smart connected devices. <t™-base integrates GlobalPlatform TEE standards to provide uniform and interoperable APIs; it enables security programmers to create the core of their security applications independently of underlying platforms.
True hardware separation of the TEE from a main operating system provides a known good root-of-trust for application developers to build upon. Devices equipped with <t™-base protects the integrity and confidentiality of key resources, empowering application developers to:
~ Securely authenticate and interact with both users and services in the cloud
~ Process sensitive data, and to store this securely
Applications enhanced to utilize <t™-base have security sensitive components running as Trustlets. <t™-base manages and executes Trustlets built in by device makers as well as Trustlets installed on demand by users. Trustlets running in <t™-base have access to the full power of a device’s main processor and memory, while hardware isolation protects them from applications (benevolent, unintentional or malicious) running in the main operating system.
Service providers wishing to deploy applications that use <t™-base technology need to ensure that trust is maintained throughout the deployment process. Trustonic provides a directory service for devices enabled with the <t™-base, furnishing service providers the information needed to establish secure connections between the service the end user is requesting and the device they are requesting it on. Service providers may also use parties known as “Trusted Service Managers” to manage the entire end-to-end process of secure application installation, update and removal, which includes the process of interacting with the Trustonic directory service.
The Trustonic <t™-dev Developer Partner Program is a service available for application developers and service providers to fast-track development of Trustlet enabled applications to enhance and protect services on smart connected devices.
