Metaforic Core is a real time anti-tamper and integrity checking solution for firmware, OS and applications.
Core directly prevents any change to code or data by automatically adding real time security to code that is to be protected. As such, it does not rely on system administrators or updates. Instead, Core lets software defend itself by triggering defenses to hacking ranging from self repair, to a call for help, to an immediate shutdown. This means that Core can resist hacking even when hackers have access over extended periods of time.
This approach allows Core to defeat custom malware and malicious hacking such as Man in the Middle attacks, Man in the Mobile attacks, attacks on rules, configuration and heuristics, firmware modification and application layer hacks.
Core is particularly useful for binding sources of trust, such as binding the output and inputs to an ARM Trustzone execution to code that is potentially untrusted. This means that the envelope of trust afforded by Trustzone can be extended into the untrusted code, facilitating security protocols such as proof of identity or transport of sensitive data.
Core can also protect signed code with a second factor of authentication and can signal unexpected change in arbitrary code to any form of management console, user or device.
Metaforic Core has been deployed on a range of platforms including cell phones, network infrastructure devices, game consoles, medical devices, telematics, and set top boxes.
