Product Description

The Atmel® SAM9X processors are high-performance, highly-integrated ARM926EJ-S™ based embedded MPUs featuring a rich set of networking and connectivity peripherals. The devices run at 400MHz and include Ethernet MAC, dual CAN, triple USB ports, two HS SDCard/SDIO/MMC interfaces and seven UARTs, as well as a unique integrated soft modem solution supporting the Conexant SmartDAA line driver. A multi-layer bus matrix associated with 2 x 8 central DMA channels as well as dedicated DMAs ensure uninterrupted data transfer with minimum processor intervention. The External Bus Interface incorporates controllers for 8-bank DDR2/LPDDR, SDRAM/LPSDRAM, static memories, and specific circuitry for MLC/SLC NAND Flash with integrated ECC. Selected devices include an advanced graphics LCD controller with hardware acceleration that supports overlays, alpha blending, image scaling, rotating and color space conversion to enable a more intuitive interface, while offloading the CPU. Low voltage, low power consumption and reduced system cost make the Atmel SAM9X ideal for cost-sensitive machine-to-machine applications. The processors are supported by full-featured evaluation kits to enable rapid application development, as well as a worldwide ecosystem of industry-leading suppliers of development tools, operating systems, protocol stacks and applications.
