Armadillo-500 is a tiny CPU module which employs a i.MX31L (ARM11) processor, providing a high degree of performance and expandability.It will take its place as the high end model in Atmark Techno's Armadillo The i.MX31 is based on an ARM11 CPU core, and operates with an impressive clock speed of 400MHz or more while maintaining low power consumption. It also includes a number of features which support use in various multimedia applications, such as a vector floating point coprocessor, a 128KB level two cache, a MPEG4 encoder, video output and an audio interface.
Armadillo series are shipped with Linux (kernel 2.6) as their standard operating system.
