The Symbian OS Internals training gives experienced embedded developers an overview of kernel programming for Symbian OS. This course is an introduction to base porting and device driver programming.
We cover the memory models (moving, multiple) and context switching for processes. Further we look at memory (MMU) and platform security protection between processes and explain the scheduling algorithm for threads.
There is an overview of the tasks involved for base porting and a set of modules for device driver programming which includes creation of device driver threads, handling interrupts and DFCs, DMA and the power management model for Symbian OS.
The training has real coding exercises on real hardware.
