SRS CS Headphone™ is an audio rendering technology that processes 2-channel stereo or surround-encoded content for delivery over traditional headphones – allowing viewers to enjoy the original 5.1 surround recorded program. This technology is ideal for portable devices where the availability of surround encoded video content is becoming more prevalent.


The human hearing system relies on many variables, including the shape of individual's heads, their outer ear and other subtle physical cues. However, when headphones are used, either in-ear earbuds, or over-ear headphones, the frequency response of the auditory system is negatively affected, creating an unnatural and in many cases, uncomfortable listening experience.

SRS Labs developed a proprietary algorithm, SRS Circle Surround Headphone (CS Headphone), based on the human hearing system and HRTFs, to create a more accuate surround sound listening experience when listening to 2 channel surround latent content over any set of earbuds or headphones. SRS CS Headphone provides listeners with a "Home Theater Like" experience when listening to content on their mobile phones, notebooks, A/V receivers, portable media devices etc.
