Today, fast and efficient software development is often the decisive factor in the launching of new products. To avoid having to wait for the first hardware prototypes at the start of the development phase, Virtual Prototypes (software models of the hardware) are becoming increasingly common. As soon as a Virtual Prototype is available for the target hardware, work can start on debugging the drivers, the operating system and the application.
Lauterbach provides debugging support for different Virtual Prototypes from Synopsys, ARM and others. The debugging interface used here is the debugging API of the Virtual Prototype. This enables the customers to use the professional development environment TRACE32 in this early phase of their project.
