Product Description

LiPS will work to create a standardised application environment for all types of Linux terminals through defining:

* A specific set of usage profiles and their functional requirements in conjunction with industry groups, notably the OMTP, as well as member operators.


* Architecture and Application Programme Interfaces (APIs) that define the layers of Linux that directly enable or impact on the applications and services running on a phone.


* Components of Software Development Kits (SDKs) that allow developers to easily take advantage of LiPS APIs to develop their products.


* A process for registering implementations that have been developed based on LiPS standards.


* A testing and certification process.
