The DTV-AR9 belongs to Droplet’s DTV family of video compression/decompression (codec) and video processing products, designed to enable high-performance video capture, editing, transmission, storage, retrieval, and playback in multimedia systems and portable communications devices.
DTV codecs are available both as SW applications that target video compression/ decompression running on a variety of industry standard media processors and embedded mobile microprocessors, and as application-specific cores that target video compression in SoC, ASIC, and FPGA.
The DTV-AR9 is a SW video codec targeting mobile devices that incorporate an ARM9 or equivalent RISC processor. The DTV-AR9 utilizes Droplet’s powerful new 3D Wavelet Compression, Quantization, and Entropy Coding algorithms in a compact SW codec capable of high-quality, low-power, real-time VGA capture at 30fps in mobile devices utilizing ARM9-based baseband SoCs or multimedia processors.
