Sarnoff’s H.264/MPEG-4/AVC Decoder enables handheld and portable multimedia entertainment devices to play AVC coded video. Sarnoff’s Decoder enables faster time to market while permitting product specific trade-offs between product cost, battery life and flexibility to be made.

This Decoder is a highly enhanced, software-driven solution that runs on a variety of processors and DSPs. It is easily ported. A matching library of optionally implemented hardware acceleration blocks is available. The user can optimize the tradeoff between battery life, performance and silicon area for each specific end product by implementing the Decoder with a different combination of hardware acceleration blocks.
