Embedded Systems Institute (ESI) is established by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to promote embedded systems technology. Currently, ESI offers ARM-based embedded systems training courses for both undergraduate students and professionals in both Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta region of China. The duration of a typical ESI course is 4-5 days. The course can be conducted either in consecutive days within a week, or in two consecutive weekends (Saturday and Sunday). The schedule and contents of a course can be further customized for a group provided the number of group members has reached the minimum student requirement for that course. ESI’s training course emphasizes on hands-on practices; students will spend most of their time in developing, testing and debugging their own firmware on an ARM target development board. During the last part of training, students will do a mini-project to apply what they have learned in the course. The training will be delivered by trainers of ESI who has years of practical working experience in embedded systems development. Guest speakers include professors from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as engineers and managers from prestige vendors in the embedded systems field. ESI will issue certificate for those students who have successfully completed the course.
