BackDraft Technologies' FasTrack Accelerator is a certification program aimed at getting OEMs' products to market faster. The FasTrack Accelerator Program assembles application-specific toolchains, from the low-level hardware to the application software, and certifies interoperability and functionality.
During the toolchain assembly process, all the individual modules of the toolchain are validated based on two types of certifications. The first type, the more fundamental of the two, is a ‘system' certification on a Platform. A ‘system' certification, which includes hardware, operating systems, and low-level drivers, starts by something as seemingly simple as getting the products installed. The second type of certification, a function test, is performed on modules that run on the Platform (e.g. high-level application software, middleware). A function test certifies that the module doesn't cause the Platform to break and that it performs the function that it is supposed to do. Furthermore, a function certification tests functionality and/or feature sets.
