Optimized Price/Performance in a Small Package, the new Samsung S3C2415/S3C2416 is optimized for embedded and mobile applications, featuring a 16/32-bit ARM926EJ-S core, on-chip peripherals that include a 2D graphics accelerator and low voltage supported by Samsung’s 65nm low-power technology. This mobile processor gives designers of products such as E-book, POS, portable GPS devices and PDAs a solution for reducing system costs while providing maximum flexibility.

In terms of flexibility, the S3C2415/S3C2416 has an enhanced NAND controller that enables 512B, 2KB and 4KB block transfers as well as 1-bit, 4-bit and 8-bit ECC support to interface with an array of NAND flash such as MLC and SLC. S3C2415/S3C2416 supports iROM booting features to boot from MoviNAND and the like. S3C2415/S3C2416 memory controllers supports a variety of memory types such as NOR, OneNAND™, SRAM, low-power mobile SDRAM and mobile DDR as well as removable storage like SD and MMC. The S3C2415/S3C2416 also supports an enhanced set of power modes to reduce power consumption. Displays are supported that range from 4K-color STN to 16M-color TFT-LCD in a variety of resolutions, thus enhancing design flexibility. Samsung created the S3C2415/S3C2416 to power price-sensitive devices while still enabling broad features and performance.
