Fraunhofer IIS offers reference quality software implementations of MPEG audio and video encoding and decoding algorithms optimized for low resource consumption on all ARM technology-based platforms:

- mp3 (MPEG Layer-3) encoding and decoding
- mp3 Surround – Multi-channel mp3 audio decoding
- mp3D post-processing – Enhances the sound quality for playback of mp3 stereo or mp3 Surround over headphones
- MPEG Surround – Surround extension for perceptual audio codecs, combining backwards compatibility to stereo devices with a very low additional bit-rate, for surround reproduction via multi-channel loudspeakers and stereo headphones
- MPEG-2/MPEG-4 AAC encoding and decoding
- MPEG-4 High Efficiency AAC v2 (including SBR+PS) stereo and multi-channel encoding and decoding
- HD-AAC lossless audio decoding (MPEG-4 SLS, Scalable Lossless)
- MPEG-4 Enhanced Low Delay AAC (AAC-ELD), MPEG-4 Low Delay AAC (AAC-LD) encoding and decoding – The high-quality audio standards for tele- and video conference systems and VoIP applications, the brand new AAC-ELD ISO standard offers increased bit-rate efficiency and a very low algorithmic delay down to 15 ms
- Audio Communication Engine – Integrated solution that delivers all relevant components of an audio communication system, including high-quality low-delay audio codecs, robust acoustic echo control and a low delay IP streaming system
- Audio codecs for digital broadcast systems: DAB, DAB+, DMB, DVB-H, Digital Radio Mondiale and others
- MPEG Layer 2 encoding and decoding
- MPEG-4 and ISMA A/V Streaming solutions
- MPEG-4 Part 2 (Simple/Advanced Simple Profiles) decoding
- MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) decoding
- DVB-H Player toolkit (H.264/AVC, HE-AAC v2 decoder, RTP transport, MP4 file reading, SDP parser, rendering (scaling, resampling, volume))

Fraunhofer IIS Core Design Kits (CDKs), written in C or C++, are tailored for implementations of audio and video codecs on all ARM-powered platforms. They are optimized for devices with limited memory resources and computational power and can be directly compiled for any ARM core.
