The Cirrus Logic® Nine Series of SoC general-purpose processor products is a family of ARM9-based products designed for use in a variety of markets including digital entertainment, specialized terminals, VOIP controllers, security/surveillance and industrial control applications.
Implementing a concept known as Optimal Integration (OI), Cirrus Logic’s engineering team provides today’s embedded designer with a range of peripheral and feature-set solutions for their next-generation projects. From computationally intensive control applications with minimal peripheral content, to a complex integrated system that requires a complete range of peripherals, system developers can optimize the ideal peripheral mix and processing capability for their application. This freedom of choice minimizes production costs, speeds time to market and improves product profitability.
Individual products in the Nine-Series family include such highly differentiated features as a hardware floating point unit, integrated 10/100 Ethernet, IDE mass storage interface and flexible graphics support with an available 2D graphics accelerator. A powerful dual-bus architecture coupled with a memory architecture keeps system throughput at a maximum in data intensive applications.
The powerful Nine-Series system architecture is complemented by a range of complete operating system solutions. Both Microsoft WinCE .NET™ and Linux solutions are available with total driver support across the range of the Nine-Series family of processors. The Cirrus Logic staff of embedded experts completes the Nine Series solution set. The worldwide support team can help speed products to market with an emphasis on reducing the risks associated with developing state-of-the-art ARM9 processor-based solutions.
