eSilicon™ provides custom chips to the world's leading electronics companies. For customers developing ARM processor-based system-on-a-chip (SOC) products, eSilicon offers a low risk, cost-effective and fast time-to-volume means to get the product to market. eSilicon’s portfolio of pre-verified ARM based subsystems, called the eSOC™ family, allow our customers to get to market efficiently without sacrificing product differentiation.
The eSOC family is built around the ARM7TDMI®, ARM7EJ-S™, ARM922T™, ARM926EJ-S™, ARM946E-S™, ARM1022E™, ARM1136J-S™ and ARM1136JF-S™ processors and includes several standard functions such as DDR and standard memory controllers, Serial ports, Interrupt controllers, Timers, a Real-time Clock, PLL and Low speed ADC. The family is designed in single and multi-AHB configurations making it easy to accommodate customer specific IP and other specialty IP such as PCI, USB, Ethernet, 802.11, Bluetooth, etc. This ability to customize the subsystem allows customers to add their differentiation, and quickly target application markets such as wireless, multimedia, industrial, computer and telecom.
To further reduce our customer’s risk, eSilicon offers XPressChip, a low cost prototyping path for SOC products. To further shorten the time-to-volume, eSilicon provides an extensive verification environment covering not only basic boot and CPU tests, but also integration tests for all the standard functions built into the eSOC family.
Currently, the eSOC family is available in TSMC’s 0.18u and 0.13u process technologies. A representative subsystem built around the ARM946E core is shown in the block diagram.
