Prolific's design automation software runs as a final pass after any place-and-route tool, optimizing blocks in a digital design for power and timing. ProPower reduces leakage and active power, while ProTiming improves design timing. Prolific's easy-to-use, non-intrustive approach does not require alterations to existing backend flows, and does not require modifications to the standard-cell libraries, but it produces significant measurable improvements, even in blocks previously optimized by other tools. Founded by Dr. Paul de Dood in 1995, Prolific is a privately-held company.
